More about my honored guest:

Palmaïa - The House of AÏA's founder and CEO, Alex Ferri is a passionate entrepreneur who has founded many projects, from Charly’s Vegan Tacos, a vegan taco franchise in Mexico and Miami, to a review app for guests to review hotels while they are staying at them (founded in 2013); Alex also owned and operated Sandos Hotels & Resorts for many years. In contrast to Sandos, Palmaïa is the first time Alex’s been able to build exactly what he would want out of a resort, modeled after his own lifestyle.

He believes that inner exploration and a sense of community is key bringing people together for personal growth and creating change in the world (i.e. you have to change yourself for the better and understand your connection to nature/how that impacts you before you can try to change anything else in the world). He is a vegan, and fiercely passionate about sustainability and how our eating behaviors impact the environment. Alex was the driving force behind Sandos’ sustainability initiatives that have earned it several awards including Marti, Disintivo S, and more and Sandos was one of the first brands to eliminate plastic across all of its resorts. Originally from the UK and Spain, Alex grew up going to Ibiza and Mykonos, and for the last fifteen years, has spent a significant amount of time in Tulum.

From his perspective, he feels there is a bohemian revolution happening worldwide – a growing community of unconventional thinkers, spiritual seekers, purpose driven entrepreneurs. They’re nomadic travelers that are changing the cultural landscape and redefining the aspirations of what 21st century life means. He created Palmaia to be a gathering point to welcome like-minded individuals, create community and help people discover the unknown through the sound and wellness programming. Thehouseofaia.com
