Permission is the gateway. The body is the vehicle.

For years, Dr. Yami lived what looked like a successful life. She became a physician, built a thriving private practice, wrote a book, launched a podcast, and began speaking internationally. But beneath the accomplishments, she discovered a painful truth: it is possible to build a beautiful life and still realize it no longer fits.

After years of overriding her own desires and trying to become more grateful for a life she no longer wanted, Dr. Yami experienced a profound period of depression and disconnection. Her way forward began when she stopped asking for permission to want something different and started listening to herself again. That journey ultimately led her to step away from clinical medicine after two decades in pediatrics and begin an entirely new chapter centered on speaking, writing, teaching, and helping other women do the same.

Her philosophy also bridges personal transformation with physical well-being. Rather than treating health as another achievement to perfect, she teaches women to build a partnership with their bodies so they have the energy, clarity, and capacity to experience the lives they are creating.

Keynote 1

Stop Abandoning Yourself: The Courage to Want What You Want

What happens when the life you worked so hard to build no longer feels like your own? In this deeply personal and transformational keynote, Dr. Yami explores the hidden cost of self-abandonment and why so many ambitious, high-achieving women lose touch with their desires while becoming exceptionally good at meeting everyone else’s expectations.

Through storytelling, humor, and practical insight, she challenges the belief that wanting something different makes us selfish, ungrateful, or irresponsible. Audiences learn to recognize where they may be abandoning themselves, reconnect with desire and joy as valuable information, and begin using The Permission Practice™ to move from knowing what they want to having the courage to act on it.

Key takeaway: It’s okay to want what you want, and choosing yourself doesn’t require abandoning the people you love.

When Burnout Is Spiritual: Why Rest Isn’t Always the Answer

What if you’re exhausted not because you’re doing too much, but because you’re spending your life doing things that no longer feel like you? Drawing from her own experience as a physician who built a successful medical practice only to discover that the life she had created no longer fit, Dr. Yami explores the difference between depletion and misalignment.

This keynote challenges the assumption that every form of burnout can be solved with more rest, better boundaries, or another self-care routine. Sometimes exhaustion is asking us to look deeper.

Key takeaway: Sometimes the answer isn’t simply to recover from your life. It’s to examine whether the life you’re recovering from still fits.

The Body That Carries the Dream: Why Your Health Is Not a Side Quest

Your dreams require more than courage. They require a body with the capacity to live them. In this inspiring keynote, Dr. Yami brings together her expertise in medicine, lifestyle medicine, health coaching, and personal transformation to reframe health as something far more meaningful than a number on a scale or another achievement to perfect.

Audiences learn to stop treating their bodies as problems to fix and begin building a partnership with the body that carries them through their lives.

Key takeaway: Your health is not the destination. It is the foundation that gives you the energy, clarity, and capacity to create the life you want.

Because a meaningful life isn’t built by becoming less of yourself. It begins when you finally give yourself permission to become more fully who you are.
