#95.5: How to be a House Plant Parent with Darryl Cheng
“When you have certain plants for a long enough time you develop a connection with them that is very much the same as your connection with a pet...” -Darryl Cheng
Happy Earth Day! This entire month I have been focusing on environmental sustainability and climate change and I wanted to do something fun and unique for Earth Day. Today’s episode is about raising HOUSE plants!! On this Earth Day, let’s learn how to bring a little bit of the Earth’s beauty indoors.
I used to consider myself a plant-killer, but then my husband gifted me a beautiful orchid for Valentine’s day and I was determined to help her thrive. Over one year later, she has bloomed three times and is happy in my dining room where she gets plenty of light every day. Although I accidentally learned how to best care for her, I became interested in learning how to care for houseplants to develop more confidence in that area. Through my research, I found Darryl Cheng from House Plant Journal. I found his philosophy and teachings to be so practical and refreshing and it gave me courage to keep learning how to best love my houseplants. I am now up to 4 plants that are ALIVE and seem very happy!
