#63: A Conversation with Elyse Resch, Co-Creator of Intuitive Eating
“When you’re on a diet, you’re following external messages: eat this, don’t eat that, eat at this time, eat this amount. When you’re eating intuitively, you’re listening to what your body is telling you.” -Elyse Resch
This is the second episode of the Intuitive Eating series where I had the great privilege of interviewing one of the co-authors of the book Intuitive Eating. Elyse and I have a fabulous conversation about what intuitive eating is and what it isn’t. She also dives deeper into why pleasure is essential.
In this episode you will discover:
How Elyse struggled with helping her clients with weight loss in her early days as a nutrition therapist.
Why Intuitive Eating is becoming so popular and the common misconceptions
How you can break free from diet mentality
Why some people give up on intuitive eating
Why pleasure is an important component of intuitive eating
Why learning and practicing intuitive eating principles can help teens
The updates in the soon-to-be-released latest edition of Intuitive Eating
