#144: Modern Friendship with Dr. Shainna Ali (Relationship Series)
“Friendships are powerful.” -Dr. Shainna Ali
Dr. Shainna Ali is back on the podcast during the month of February, but this time it is to talk about FRIENDSHIP. I personally have struggled with friendships during my life and I know how it can lead to heartache and pain, but I also realize how very important friends are for our wellbeing.
In this episode of Veggie Doctor Radio, Dr. Shainna and I discuss modern friendship and the important thing that we can start doing now to improve our friendships.
We discuss:
Why friendships are important for our health and wellbeing
The components of a healthy friendship
Reasons why we may be having more difficulty making friends
Life circumstances that make it harder to make and sustain friends
If we are “too busy” for friends
How social media and technology has impacted friendships
Mode of communication and friendships
Typical problems that friends face
How to handle conflicts between friends that have arisen with recent political and philosophical differences
What she wishes more people knew about friendships
