#102: How Understanding Generations Can Add Value to Your Life
“To convey to each generation a message of wellness, we need to craft the message to them in a way that will connect with their core values. ” -Chuck Underwood
Chuck Underwood is a pioneer in the field of generational studies and I am so grateful for his work. I was vaguely aware of the significance of generations through my studies in psychology, but after hearing him present at the Yakima Town Hall early 2020, I was strongly impacted by what I had learned. Understanding generations is not only important, but it can bring so much value to our lives, first by understanding our own generation, but then by understanding the generations of those around us.
In this episode of Veggie Doctor Radio, I have an interesting conversation with Chuck Underwood about generations and why we should learn more about them.
We discuss:
What is a generation and how it is defined
How understanding generational differences help us in our lives
How generational studies can be applied to healthcare and wellness
The current generations in America and what shaped their health habits
How we can use understanding of our own generation to improve our lives
How the coronavirus pandemic may influence the upcoming Generation Z
What he wishes more people knew about generations
The personal habit he is most proud of (it’s a tear jerker!!!)
